(NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev.) Westmont's Ryan Brady and Hannah Camara posted top-10 finishes at the PacWest Men's and Women's Conference Tournaments that were held at the Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas, Nevada.

Brady finished tied for sixth shooting a three-round even par. On the first day, he posted a one-over 73, then shot a round of 68 (-4) on day two. On the third day, Brady posted a three-over 75.

"As a coach, I have observed significant growth in Ryan since August," said Westmont's head coach Leo Maes. "He is consistent with his daily development and is aware of the areas in which he can find growth in his performance.

"What I found particularly impressive during this tournament was his perseverance on the final day. Despite not having the strongest start to his round, he maintained his focus. I was fortunate enough to witness his eagle on the eighth hole on the last day, which I believe served as a considerable energy boost for the remainder of his round. As a freshman, this experience presents a wonderful opportunity, and I am optimistic about Ryan's future both on and off the course."

Camara, a sophomore, tied for fifth place with a three-round score of 220 (four over). On Monday, Camara shot a one-over 73, then followed that up with an even par 72 on Tuesday. On Wednesday, she shot a three over 75.

"I knew I needed to stay present, even when I hit some bad shots," said Camara about the tournament. "It was a grind, but I stayed in it. I am confident and happy with how I played."

Camara, like all the Warriors, felt the challenge of competing at the tournament in the final week of classes at Westmont.

"I just try to shut off my brain when I am on the course, to be honest," said Camara. "I was thinking a lot about how much homework I had. Going into it, I knew I couldn't focus on that. That comes later. I needed to stay present and not worry about everything else around me. Just focus on my own game and how I was playing."

Camara became the first Westmont women's golfer in program history to earn a 'Top-10 Finisher" plaque at the conference tournament.

"Leading into this tournament, it was evident that Hannah had been progressing positively," said Maes. "With one victory this semester, I was confident in her readiness for this conference championship. After the practice round, we gained valuable insights into what was necessary to excel in this tournament.

"I believe that not only did the course align well with Hannah's strengths, but her preparation and commitment to maximizing each swing benefited her performance this week. I am proud of Hannah and thrilled for her achievements, and I eagerly anticipate witnessing her development in her junior year."

The women's team finished fifth in the field of 10 teams with a three-round total of 915. Freshman Kyla Layman was the Warriors' second finisher with a score of 228 (+16). She posted rounds of 75 (+3) and 79 (+7), then had her best performance on day three with a 74 (+2). Layman moved up 10 places from day two to three.

As a team, the Warriors finished tied with Jessup for fourth place after the first day of competition, then gave up some ground on day two, tying with Point Loma for sixth. After the third round, the Warriors moved ahead of both Vanguard and Point Loma to claim fifth.

"Throughout the year, our foundation has been truth and effort, believing and speaking it," noted Maes. "We competed with grit and gratitude throughout the week. Finishing in the top five out of ten is a commendable achievement, and it is something we can build upon as we prepare for this offseason and upcoming fall. The ladies on the team have established a new standard and belief for Westmont golf. I am blessed to have coached this group of women and am excited to witness their continued growth in the fall."

The men's team finished eighth out of nine teams. Tyler Williams posted a four-over 220 for the tournament with rounds of 73 (+1), 69 (-3) and 78 (+6) to tie for 12th place. Noah Lodewyk recorded rounds of 73 (+1), 75 (+3) and 77 (+5) to tie for 21st.

The Warrior men were in seventh place after day one after posting a team score of 305. They remained in seventh after the second round with a score of 304 and a two-day total of 609. On the third day of competition, their team total was 316 and they fell into eighth place.
