(LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz.) Competing against Division II and III teams from the middle of the country, Westmont Women's Golf finished in fifth place out of 10 teams at the Southwest Minnesota State Classic held at the Wigwam Golf Course.

The Warriors scored a team total of 618 over 36 holes, 15 strokes off of Illinois Wesley and Nebraska-Kearney, who tied for first at 603. Southwest Oklahoma State was third at 607 and Minnesota State Mankato was fourth at 613.

Hannah Camara led the Warriors, finishing in a tie for eighth place with a two-day total of 150 (+10) with rounds of 77 and 73.

"I'm very proud of Hannah," said Westmont's head coach Leo Maes. "She struggled at the beginning of the tournament but was able to reset and put together a strong final 27 holes."

Karis Haltom and Jenna Trinidad tied for 15th place with a score of 153. Trinidad carded rounds of 75 and 78 while Haltom posted scores of 73 and 79.

"It's been great to see our freshman, Jenna, continue to get live reps and grow," expressed Maes. "The consistency Karis is building at this point in the season is exactly what we're looking for as we prepare to compete at conference."

Kayla Layman tied for 20th place with a 156 (80, 76) and Sydnee Magpoc tied for 24th with a 160 (79, 81).

The Warriors are back in action on Monday and Tuesday, March 23-24, when they compete in Dominican's Big Freeze at the Richmond Golf Club.

"We have a quick turnaround as we head to Dominican this Saturday," noted Maes. "We're looking to stay competitive as we enter the final stretch before conference. "
