(RICHMOND, Calif.) Westmont Women's Golf traveled to Northern California to compete in the Big Freeze Tournament, hosted by Dominican at the Richmond Golf Club.

"As a team, the Warriors competed with determination and found themselves in contention heading into the final nine holes, ultimately finishing third overall," reported Westmont head coach Leo Maes. "The group continues to build momentum as they prepare for conference play."

Sydnee Magpoc and Hannah Camara both finished in the top ten with scores of 149 (+5) and 150 (+6) for the two-round event.

"Sydnee delivered a strong finish, recording her best performance yet as a Westmont Warrior, highlighted by an even-par round on day two," noted Maes. "Hannah Camara also continued her consistent play, securing another top-10 finish.

"I'm very proud of Sydnee. She continues to lead by example. After not having her best showing in Arizona, this was a great response. The goal for her this week was to continue to smile. I am very proud her.

"As a team, we're putting ourselves in a strong position with a clear path toward regionals, and we're looking forward to competing in the coming month."

Jenna Trinidad recorded a 154 (+10) to tie for 17th place.

The women's team will be back in action on April 13-14 when they compete in the Chico State Wildcat Invitational at Butte Creek Country Club.

Westmont Men's Golf will compete on Monday and Tuesday, March 30-31 in Colorado at the Sam Proal Invitational at the Pueblo Country Club.
