With over two decades of experience at the NCAA Division I and II levels, Booker Harris is a proven winner, respected program builder, and a fixture in the Pacific West Conference. Known for his ability to develop players and elevate programs, Harris has helped lead multiple teams to record-setting seasons and postseason success.
Most recently at Academy of Art University, Harris played a key role in guiding the Urban Knights to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, their first-ever PacWest Tournament and Regular Season titles, and new program records in wins, scoring, and defensive metrics. Under his guidance, ART U produced numerous All-Conference and All-Region selections—including the PacWest’s first-ever Player & Defender of the Year in the same season.
Prior to ART U, Harris spent a decade as head coach at Dominican, transforming a four-win team into a consistent contender. His 2013-14 squad finished 22-8 and reached the PacWest Championship game, earning him PacWest Co-Coach of the Year honors. Over his tenure, Harris coached 10 All-PacWest selections and earned eight NABC Team Academic Awards.
Harris’s coaching resume also includes impactful stops at Metro State (two NCAA Tournament appearances), University of San Diego (2008 WCC champions; NCAA Tournament upset over UConn), and Cal State San Bernardino (Final Four in 2007, six straight CCAA titles). He began his career at Sonoma State and Long Beach State.
A former guard at the University of San Francisco, Harris was part of the Dons 1998 NCAA Tournament team and is a two-time WCC All-Academic honoree. He holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration from USF and an MBA from Sonoma State.
