As the head coach for Westmont Women's Soccer from 2015-2018, Chantel Cappuccilli continued the program's high standards and winning tradition. The Warriors earned a berth into the NAIA national championship in each of her first three years, advancing to the second round in 2016 and the quarterfinals in 2015 and 2017.

Cappuccilli attended Saint Mary’s (Calif.) where she played NCAA Division I soccer for two seasons. After her sophomore year, Cappuccilli transferred to California Baptist. Sidelined with an injury for the 2010 season, Cappuccilli finished out her career at California Baptist in the 2011 and 2012 seasons. Cappuccilli holds a master’s degree in kinesiology and sports management from California Baptist.

At California Baptist, Cappuccilli was moved from the midfield to an outside back position. The team finished 18-2-1 in both of her seasons with the Lancers while winning the Pacific West Conference Championship and the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championship each year. Cappuccilli was named the National Tournament Defensive MVP and named to the Pacific West All-Conference Team as a senior.

During the six years since Cappuccilli arrived at Westmont (two as assistant coach and four as head coach), the women’s soccer program has been one of the most highly regarded in the NAIA. In addition to consistent high national rankings, the Warriors have won a Golden State Athletic Conference championship and have been national runner-up.

"I have a great level of confidence in Chantel," noted Odell, "her experience level is very comparable to some of our most successful coaches when they first arrived at Westmont. From day one, Coach Cappuccilli has embraced the community and culture surrounding Westmont athletics."

"While serving as the assistant women’s soccer coach for two seasons, I learned the true meaning of excellence in the work place," said Cappuccilli. "There is an unremitting thoroughness in Westmont Women’s Soccer that is obsessed with the little things.

"Although I did not attend Westmont, I believe it to be a gem among college institutions," offered Cappuccilli, "Its mission, academic reputation, athletic excellence, and community are a rarity. Westmont is a place that enriches the lives of its student-athletes – developing faithful, thoughtful, global leaders. I am blessed to play a role in its impact among the women’s soccer players."
