Westmont Baseball (2-9) was unable to generate enough offense to put runs on the board in Wednesday's game against British Columbia at Russ Carr Field. The visiting Thunderbirds posted a 6-0 victory over the Warriors at Russ Carr Field.
Westmont third baseman Jordan Bottenfield had three of the Warriors five hits, including a one-out double in the first inning, but the Warriors were not able to capitalize on his hot bat.
British Columbia's Ryan Syrnyk had two home runs for the Thunderbirds. In the top of the third, Syrnyk delivered a two-run home run to left field, just to the right of where the left field fence rises. Then in the fourth, Syrnyk sent a solo shot over the top of the raised portion of the fence.
The Thunderbirds used eight different pitchers in the nine inning game. The win was awarded to Dan Britton-Foster who pitched eight innings, allowing one hit.
Starter Keith Johnson suffered the loss for the Warriors. He pitched six innings, giving up three runs on four hits. Johnson struck out four and walked four.
The Warriors return to action on Thursday when they host Fresno Pacific in a Golden State Athletic Conference game. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
