Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Dimaculangan's Late Goal Gives Warriors the Win

A goal by Tiffany Dimaculangan in the eighty-eighth minute gave #18 Westmont Women's Soccer a 2-1 victory over Northwest (Wash.) on Saturday evening. The Warriors improved to 2-0-1 on the year while the Eagles fell to 0-4.

The Warriors scored in the nineteenth minute to take the early lead. Jenny Martinez drove a corner kick inside the box and Kelsey Steck headed the ball past the keeper.

In the thirtieth minute, Northwest's Acacia Johnson scored on a breakaway to tie the game at one goal apiece.

Dimaculangan's goal came 58 minutes later when she scored from 12 yards out assisted by Martinez.

The undefeated Warriors return home for a match-up with Lee (Tenn.) on Saturday at Thorrington Field. Though Lee departed the NAIA this year to compete in Division II of the NCAA, the Flames have been the most successful women's soccer team in the NAIA over the past five years. In 2011, Lee won their fourth NAIA National Championship in a row.

Kick-off for Saturday's game is scheduled for one o'clock.
