Box Score Westmont Volleyball (15-5, 7-3 GSAC) completed a Northern California sweep by defeating Menlo (8-4-2, 2-3-2) on Saturday afternoon in straight sets (25-18, 25-16, 25-20). Yesterday, the Warriors defeated William Jessup 3-1.

In today's match, freshman Samantha Neely led the Warriors with 13 kills. Neely posted a .462 attack percentage; committing just one error in 26 attempts. As a team, Westmont recorded a .254 attack percentage and tallied 11 blocks.

Down 9-7 in the first set, the Warriors delivered four kills in a row to take an 11-9 lead – two by Missy Fuerst and one each by Taylor Beckman and Neely. The Warriors then scored nine of the next 12 points to take control of the set.

After giving up the first point of the second set on a kill by Menlo's Maggie McDonald, the Warriors scored the next six points, including two kills, by Neely, one by McCann, one by Fuerst, a service ace by Miranda Beach and a block by Neely and Fuerst.

The Oaks would draw to within two points (7-5) on a service ace by Kori Paradis, but Westmont responded with a 13-2 run to put the set out of reach.

A neck-and-neck third set saw the game tied eight times. With the scored knotted at 18-all, Westmont's Sarah McGough and Neely delivered back-to-back kills and Menlo committed an attack error to give Westmont a 21-18 advantage.

After Menlo responded with two points to pull within on (21-20), Westmont scored the next five to end the match. A block by Maricic and McGough made it 23-20 before McGough produced back-to-back kills to clinch the win.

Next week, the Warriors head into the home stretch of the regular season. Of the seven remaining games, six will be played in Murchison Gymnasium. On Friday, Westmont will welcome Arizona Christian to Santa Barbara for a five o'clock game. Then on Saturday afternoon, the Warriors will host San Diego Christian at one.
