(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Westmont Men's Basketball (1-0) won last night's exhibition game against Identity Hoops International by a score of 112-92. Six different Warriors scored double-digit points in the victory.

Identity Hoops is a team of ex-pro and college basketball players that travels around the country using basketball as a platform to preach the Gospel. This is the third time in the last four seasons that Westmont has hosted them.

Westmont head coach John Moore said, "It's always a good test to see new guys playing who haven't played with each other to the degree that they had to play last night. We got a lot of minutes from different people."

Moore sent out 12 different players to the court throughout the game, four of whom were freshman. He added, "It was just good to see our young guys competing and performing at a pretty high level.

"David Gunn continues to play well. I thought the two guys who really played the most like themselves were Zac Jervis and Sean Harman. I thought they performed at a very high level. Zac was very comfortable out there, lead us in assists with six and tied in steals with two," said Moore.

Gunn lead the scoring for the Warriors in the second straight game scoring 16 points. He also added a team-leading nine rebounds. Jervis added 11 points and Harman had 15 of his own.

Last night's game was strictly offensive. The score at half time found Westmont ahead 64-49. Moore said, "I look at that halftime score and don't know if I'm more impressed with us scoring 64 or depressed by giving up 49."

Westmont shot 58.9% from the floor on the game and was 46.2% from behind the three point line. Moore reflected, "I think what I'm finding is we're a pretty good shooting team. I think our defense needs to improve, and that will improve as guys get more familiar with how to help each other."

Maxwell Hudgins, Jerry Karczewski, and Ben Okhotin were the other three who scored double digits on the night helping Westmont reach their final score of 112 points to Identity Hoops' 92.

The Warriors return to the court to play their first road game of the season on Saturday at Occidental. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
