(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Juniors Bri Johnson and Gabi Haw were named Golden State Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week after their performances last week in Lawrenceville, Georgia against highly-ranked opponents.

Haw was also named the NAIA National Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. This is the fourth time in her career that Haw has received a GSAC Player of the Week award and is her first national recognition.

Johnson, who received the GSAC Offensive Player of the Week award, scored two goals in Westmont's 3-0 win over #1 William Carey (Miss). The reigning national champions and previously undefeated Crusaders had allowed only one goal in their previous seven games.

Johnson's first goal came in the 38th minute of the game when she beat two Carey defenders by shifting the ball from her right foot to her left and crushing it into the net.

On her second goal, the ball was cleared to Johnson who dribbled 60 yards toward Carey's goal. After beating three defenders, she scored from six yards out, resulting in a 3-0 lead for the Warriors.

Johnson, now has three goals, including two game winners, and one assist on the season.

Haw keep Carey's potent offense off the board and produced her fifth shutout of the season while tallying five saves. The only goal Haw allowed last week was a penalty kick by #15 Mobile (Ala.), whom the Warriors tied 1-1 in double overtime last Saturday

Over the eight games played this season, Haw has a goals-against average of 0.61 and 24 saves. Of the five goals scored against her, three have been via a penalty kick and one was an own goal in the first game of the year.

Haw has led her team to a seven-game unbeaten streak.

The Warriors, now 6-1-1 on the season, have this week off from competition. They will return to action next week by traveling to Northern California for games against William Jessup on Thursday and Menlo on Saturday.
