(STOCKTON, Calif.) Just hours before the scheduled 2:00 p.m. tip-off, Westmont men's basketball had its exhibition game vs. Pacific canceled today after the Tigers had a positive COVID-19 test. Head coach
Landon Boucher said the teams will not try to reschedule the game for this season.
Â
The Warriors spent the night in Stockton last night in preparation for today's matchup, but are headed back to Santa Barbara in light of the cancellation.
Â
This is the third game Westmont has had postponed or canceled in the past three weeks. The Warriors had their scheduled season opener vs. Saint Katherine on Nov. 14 postponed because of a positive test within the Firebirds' program. Additionally, the proposed Dec. 12 game with #25 Antelope Valley was also postponed until a later date because of COVID-19 issues for the Pioneers.
Â
Westmont has only managed to play an exhibition game against CSUNÂ on Nov. 25 so far this season. The Warriors still have two home games scheduled for December, beginning with a Dec. 9 matchup with La Sierra at 6:00 p.m. No fans will be allowed inside Murchison Gymnasium because of COVID-19 protocols.
