(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) The 14th ranked Westmont women's tennis team (4-7, 3-1 GSAC) rebounded from a loss against San Diego Christian on Friday by beating Hope International (3-6, 1-3) on Saturday, 4-0.

"I am very pleased with our performance against Hope," Westmont head coach Ellie Johnson said. "The players showed up motivated and hungry after the match with San Diego Christian and took control of the match from the first doubles point."

The Warriors won the two doubles matches that were completed and were leading in the other that was left unfinished.

Sidney Lowry and Ana Negri led things off in doubles for Westmont, winning 6-2 at number three.

"Sidney and Ana have been working so well together and it was an exciting win, as so much came together," Johnson said.

Christine Hemry and Rachal Jackson combined to win 6-3 at number two doubles.

"Christine and Rachal executed very well," Johnson said. "They were steady from the back and solid at the net."

Cade Pierson and Emily Peterson were leading 5-3 at number one when the Warriors clinched the point available in doubles by winning at least two of the three matches.

In singles, Westmont won all three completed singles matches and were leading in the other three that were unfinished.

"Our players were focused and assertive in singles," Johnson said. "Each player was composed and competitive."

Emily Peterson defeated Anastasija Djordevic at number two, 6-4, 6-0. Lowry won at number four against Jessica Ulloa, 6-1, 6-2. Hemry picked up the other Warriors' victory, defeating Lisanne Siebrecht at number five, 6-2, 6-2.
