(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) The Golden State Athletic Conference announced this morning that Westmont's Cade Roth has been named to the All-GSAC team for the first time in his career.

Roth, a junior, played a key-role in Westmont's success last season, but was not able to compete in the end of the regular season, nor the GSAC tournament, due to injury. This season, Roth came back fully healthy, and hungry to stay on the floor, ultimately leading the Warriors in minutes played during the regular season.

Roth started all 11 regular-season games for Westmont, and averaged 13.3 points per game with a shooting percentage of .505. Roth led the team in assists with 57, and also averaged 5.1 rebounds a game. He led the team with 25 3-pointers made, as he shot .410 from beyond the arc, and was second amongst starters with a 79% clip at the free-throw line. Roth's average of 5.2 assists per game was second-best in the GSAC at the end of the regular season.

Head coach Landon Boucher spoke proudly of Roth's growth, stating, "Cade made a really big jump from last year to this year. He became one of our better guard defenders and really showcased that during GSAC play. Also, he just really led us with his ability to get everybody else involved, with his ability to assist people complimenting his dynamic ability to score. We're really excited to look forward with Cade and build on this."

Roth turned in his best performance of the regular season over a seven day stretch from February 6 to February 13. In four games over the seven days, Roth scored at least 30 points in every contest including a trio of 30-point games against Vanguard. On February 9, Roth tied a season high with 36 points, followed by a 34-point performance three days later that also featured Roth's season high in rebounds with 10. Roth's February 12 double-double was one of two he recorded on the year. The latter came on February 23 against Hope International, with Roth scoring 22 points and adding a season-high 12 assists.
