(SIOUX CITY, Iowa.) Westmont Volleyball has been given new life in the NAIA National Championships after Midland (Neb.) defeated Bellevue (Neb.) on Friday afternoon.

Westmont defeated Midland on Wednesday before falling to Bellevue on Thursday, and after Midland defeated Bellevue on Friday, all three teams in Pool C have identical records of 1-1. This means that later tonight (Friday), the teams will compete in a one-set tiebreaker to 25, which will determine what team advances to the NAIA Quarterfinals.

Based on a percentage of sets won, Westmont is the third-ranked team in the tie-breaker, meaning the Warriors will play a "semi-final" tie-breaker against Bellevue. The winner of the semi-final tiebreaker will then play a winner-take-all tiebreaker against Midland, who earned the top-seed during pool play.

The protocol for tiebreakers is that they be played after the conclusion of the final regularly scheduled match, which is set to begin at 7:00 p.m. CST/5:00 p.m. PST. Ahead of each tiebreaker, teams are given a mandatory 30 minutes to warm up. Therefore, Westmont will likely not take the court until 9:00 p.m. CST.

Westmont's official match time(s) will be shared later today on Westmont's twitter @WestmontSports, and Westmont's Instagram, @WestmontAthletics. The match time(s) will also be posted on Westmont Volleyball's official schedule on the Westmont Athletics website.

If Westmont is the last team standing tonight, they will play in the NAIA Quarterfinals on Saturday at 8:00 p.m. CST/6:00 p.m. CST.
