(OCEANSIDE, Calif.) Westmont Men's Tennis (4-6, 4-1 GSAC) made quick work of the Saint Katherine Firebirds (1-3, 1-2 GSAC) on Friday. This afternoon, in Oceanside, the Warriors took the doubles point quickly before taking a trio of singles matches to win it 4-0.

"Our guys did a really good job of being resilient following a tough match yesterday," said Westmont head coach Mark Basham. "It was a solid win. Saint Katherine was a solid team, probably on the same level as Hope International. They were certainly a team that could have been a tough match if we didn't play our best tennis."

In doubles, Benjamin Saito and Santiago Tintore Ramon set the tone for the Warriors with a 6-1 win on court one. Then, on court one, Westmont's dynamic duo of Logan Thompson and Ethan Ha clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 victory.

"The guys were really good and spot on during doubles," shared Basham. "I was super happy at how we won on one and three, and were probably going to win at number two as well. Overall, I was happy to see us come out with such great energy."

Going into singles, Westmont needed only three matches to claim the win. They did not waste any time.

On four, Joseph Hemry defeated Alessandro Cadena Sabando 6-2 6-1, keeping momentum in the hands of the Warriors. Then, both Thompson and Ha posted identical 7-5, 6-1 wins on one and two to claim the match.

"In singles, number one and two did great," reflected Basham. "I know Logan was really down last night after the loss, so I was really happy to see him come out as strong as he did. Ethan played another really solid match for us, and he was the one who ultimately clinched it.

"Joseph played really well today, continuing his performance from yesterday. I was really pleased with the overall performance. There was a lot of good cheering, a lot of good energy, and I'm excited to see us compete against a really San Diego Christian team tomorrow."

The Warriors will continue their journey down the coast and take on San Diego Christian tomorrow in La Jolla. First serve is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
