(LEWISTON, Idaho) The Warriors will have to wait one more day for their inaugural game in the NAIA Baseball World Series. Rain in the Lewis Clark Valley has disrupted the schedule on the first day of play. The game between #4 Westmont (45-11) and #3 Lewis-Clark State (53-5), originally slated for a 7:00 p.m. start on Friday, has been rescheduled for Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.

Lightning caused a suspension of play in the top of the fourth inning of the day's second game between #4 Louisiana State Shreveport (51-6) and #5 Bellevue (Neb.) (48-11). That game is now scheduled to resume at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening. The third game of the ten-team, double-elimination tournament between #7 Faulkner (Ala.) (37-15) and #10 Webber International (Fla.) (41-20) has been slated to follow that game, beginning at 9:00 p.m.

In the only game to be completed so far, #8 Georgia Gwinnett (46-14) defeated #9 MidAmerica Nazarene (39-17) by a score of 7-6. Georgia Gwinnett will advance to take on #1 Southeastern (Fla.) (54-3) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. MidAmerica will take on the loser of the LSU Shreveport-Bellevue game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

The winner of the Lewis-Clark State-Westmont game will play on Monday at 6:30 p.m. against an opponent to be determined. The loser of that game will play on Sunday against the loser between Faulkner and Webber International at noon.
