(MOORPARK, Calif.) Westmont Men's and Women's Golf had planned to play 36 holes over two days at the Kingsmen and Regals Invitational hosted by California Lutheran at the Moorpark Country Club. However, with the forecast calling for a heavy rain on Tuesday, the decision was made to play all 36 holes on Monday.

"Thirty-six holes is about six miles of golf in a single day," said Westmont's head coach Josh Ault. "It was a mental and physical battle. We accepted that challenge well.

"The women finished third out of 10 teams," reported Ault. "It was one of the strongest outings so far, showing courage respective to some unexpected adversity."

The women's team shot a 624 for the 36-holes (48 over). Westmont edged out the host Regals by one stroke and finished second to Menlo by three strokes. Pomona-Pitzer won the event with a 7-over, 583. Meredith McDougal led the way for the Warriors by shooting a 4-over 145 to tie for fifth place. Sydnee Magpoc carded an 11-over 155, tying for ninth. Charlie Bloom shot a 78 on both days to finish tied for 11th at 12 over.

The men's team finished fifth out of 11 with a score of 607 (31-over). Westmont was two strokes behind fourth-place Menlo and two ahead of sixth-place Occidental.

After shooting a two-under 70 on the first round of 18 holes, Andy Knight finished in sixth place with a two-over 146. Brock Yurkovich tied for 16th place with a 7-over 151.

Next up, the Warriors will be participating in the TMU Spring Invitational at the Crystalaire Country Club in Llano on March 27-28.
