The MSU Denver Roadrunners made the trip out west for spring break, and spent Tuesday afternoon in Santa Barbara. In a match against Westmont's women, MSU Denver got the better of the Warriors by a score of 7-0.
Â
Westmont and MSUD played a tight doubles portion of the day, with Westmont's
Justie Spitzer and
Liska Knight leading 6-5 on court three. Unfortunately for Westmont, the Roadrunners capped on 6-4 wins on both one and two before Westmont's three's had a chance to finish off their win.
Â
Singles was a different story, with MSU Denver taking control and never looking back.
Francesca Aguirre,
Olivia Madarang, and
Sabina Salva all won three games in one of their two sets, but that was as close as Warriors came to a set win. For Aguirre, she fell to Emily Hafner 6-2, 6-3, for Madarang, she fell to Kim Heddes 6-3, 6-1, and for Salva, she fell to Lilly Stienemeier 6-3, 6-1.
Â
The Roadrunners also posted dominant wins on courts three, five, and six, where Hanna Haber, Kambra Roles, and Monica Guarin were victorious against
Sophia Ostovany, Knight, and
Arianne Vethan.
Â
The Warriors will return to competition on Wednesday at noon, when they host Colorado Mesa.
