(SOUTH JORDAN, Utah.) Westmont Women's Golf had a tough first day in the Westminster Wasatch Invitational at the Glenmore Golf Club, but came back on day two with an impressive performance to move up five places and finish tied for third with the host Griffins.

The Warriors shot a team score of 315 (+27) and found themselves in eighth place at the end of day one. Then in the final round, Westmont posted the best score of the day of 303 (+15).

"The team played great today and it was really good to see them have the low round of the day," said Westmont's head coach Leo Maes. "It was a long weekend of golf, flying in Friday with a practice round on Saturday. Today was challenging conditions with pin placement that offered risk-reward options and a little bit of wind."

Leading the way for the Warriors was sophomore Noelle Thompson.

"Noelle moving up 11 spots to fifth place as an individual is really good stuff," praised Maes. "She stayed in the moment, hit the right shots at the right time, and stayed patient when it came to her short game. Noelle was able to roll in some putts and played some good golf today."

Thompson tallied a 77 (+5) on the first day, then shot a 73 (+1) to match the lowest round of day two.

Charlie Bloom was the Warriors' second finisher, posting rounds of 76 (+4) and 78 (+6), to finish tied with three others for 13th. Liz Oloteo improved by five shots on day two, finishing 18th with scores of 80 (+8) in the first round and 75 (+3) in the second. Oloteo tied for 18th place.

The Warriors will next compete on October 7-8 when they host the Westmont Invitational at Sandpiper Golf Course in Goleta.
