(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Westmont Volleyball (12-14, 6-6 PacWest) sent their senior class out in style on Saturday night in The Murch, when the team defeated Jessup (11-13, 5-7) in four sets to finish their season on a four-match winning streak. The night brought an end to the Westmont careers of Alexis Dennick and Nariah Prescott.

Speaking on Prescott, who has spent the last three years of her collegiate career in a Westmont uniform, head coach Ruth McGolpin said, "Nariah has always been a livewire for me, and I love her dearly. She is very similar to me in the ways she plays and lives with passion. The energy Nariah plays with is something that inspires her teammates, and tonight they rallied around her and Lexi after set one.

Westmont dropped the first set 25-22, before rattling off three-straight wins to ensure the inevitable tears for their seniors afterwards were of the happy variety. For Prescott, preceding those tears were several roars to the heavens, as the Bakersfield native smashed 14 kills to lead the club.

"Nariah was a baller tonight," continued McGolpin. "I don't know exactly what she hit, but at one point I was like, 'just keep setting Nariah'. She was always electric, and tonight was a great way for her to go out."

When asked what she will remember most about her time as a Warrior, Prescott said, "How good God is.

"The people that Westmont attracts are a special type of people. These girls have been my sisters through-and-through, with every single battle I have ever been through. Volleyball is such a special sport, and I can see that the Lord has been working in my life ever since I got here. These girls, and these coaches mean everything to me. I will never forget my Westmont experience, ever."

For Alexis Dennick, the captain landed six last kills to finish her Westmont career with 489 of them. Dennick will also graduate with 315 blocks to her name, the ninth-most in program history. For those who know Lexi, however, it is the legacy of her leadership that will long outlast any number.

"Lexi has stuck it out through the highs and the lows," appreciated McGolpin. "She was the only senior in her class that stayed all four years. Even if she ever did feel like she wanted to go, she never faltered. That is true loyalty. I have all the love in the world for Lexi Dennick.

Dennick was also asked what she will remember most about wearing a Westmont uniform. Smiling through a wave of emotion, Dennick said, "All of the people I met, and all of the relationships I made. I especially want to shout-out and thank Coach Sarah Murray for the impact she had on my life. All throughout this community, the love and support has been constant.

"I love every girl I have encountered so much, and it is those relationships that I am going to walk away with."

Reflecting on the year that was, McGolpin said, "It was important to us all season long to not lose sight of both grit and gratitude. In the month of November, I saw a team that was able to display both. We loved on each other all throughout the season, and that was key. This was a team that always stayed together."
