(SAN BERNARDINO, Calif.) Sage Kramer tallied 20 points and Lisa Kiefer collected 13 rebounds as Westmont Women's Basketball (4-2) claimed a 62-46 win over the Coyotes of Cal State San Bernardino (2-3) on Saturday night at the Coussoulis Arena. Kiefer also added seven points.

Bailey Fong contributed 12 points to the Warrior cause while Jazmyn Shipp tallied eight points and seven rebounds and Molly Garnand produced five points and five rebounds.

The Warriors jumped out to a 13-2 lead with Fong striking from long distance to cap the run. Five different Warriors contributed to the early scoring. However, the Coyotes battled back and pulled within six when Citlali Salazar hit a free throw to make the score 15-9 with two and one-half minutes remaining in the first quarter.

A triple by Skyler Knight put the Warriors back on track before Shipp connected on a couple of free throws to make the score 20-9 with 1:30 to play in the first quarter. With 50 seconds left, Noemie Bariteau connected for a triple. Salazar attempted to restore order for the Coyotes with a layup, but Fong dropped in another 3-pointer in the final 10 seconds to make it a 26-11 advantage for the Warriors headed into the second period. Eight different Warriors scored in the opening frame.

Both defenses stiffened in the second quarter with the Warriors allowing just eight points and the Coyotes nine. San Bernardino scored the first six points on a free throw by Princess Cassell, a layup by Salazar and a 3-point field goal by Aariah Roa. Westmont scored seven of its second-quarter points from the free throw line, the only field goal coming from Fong. At halftime, Westmont led 35-19.

The Warriors continued a strong defensive presence in the penultimate period, holding San Bernardino to just seven points while scoring 17 of their own. Kramer was responsible for 14 of those points, resulting from four treys and a field goal. That gave Westmont a 52-26 advantage at the end of three quarters of play.

The Coyotes outscored the Warriors 20-10 in the final frame, but it was too little, too late.

The game brought an end to the non-conference season for the Warriors, who begin PacWest play on Wednesday at Concordia.
