Â
(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Westmont Women's Basketball (8-2, 4-0 PacWest) rolled to its sixth win in a row on Saturday, finishing off 2025 competition with a 75-46 win over the Silverswords of Chaminade (0-9, 0-5).
Â
Offensively,
Jazmyn Shipp produced 19 points to lead the Warriors in scoring, making nine of 14 attempts from the floor. She also collected six rebounds.
Bailey Fong tallied 15 points and dished off four assists.
Mariah Brown added 13 points to the Warrior cause, to go with three rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Sage Kramer notched nine points, five rebounds and two steals.
Â
The Warriors were dominant on the boards, outrebounding the Silverswords 53-22. Westmont notched more offensive rebounds (23) than the Silverswords did on both sides of the floor.
Lisa Kiefer Tallied 17 rebounds – 13 from the offensive glass – in 26 minutes of play. All ten Warriors that took the floor tallied at least one rebound.
Â
"We did a great job on the glass. We definitely needed that with how poorly we shot," quipped Westmont's head coach
Kirsten Moore. "It was tough to find a basket, especially from the perimeter. That usually doesn't happen at home. We are better shooters than that.
Â
"However, I'm definitely proud of our persistence to crash the board. Lisa, obviously, led the way with that. Navine gave us a great spark off the bench with four o-boards. Our effort in that area in a game when we were not shooting our best was great to see."
Â
Westmont shot just 16.0% from beyond the arc (4 of 25). With its height advantage, however, the Warriors controlled the paint, outscoring Chaminade from the lane 34-12. They also produced 21 second-chance points.
Â
Also contributing to the Warriors' success were 13 steals, compared to the Silverswords' three. Westmont posted a points-off-turnovers advantage of 25-6.
Â
Holly Dolny started the game's scoring, draining a three from the right side to spot the Silverswords to a 3-0 lead. However,
Mariah Brown answered with a jumper from the elbow before
Lisa Kiefer stole the ball on the defensive end and took it to the Warriors' hoop, giving Westmont a 4-3 advantage. Those points proved to be the beginning of a Warrior 13-0 run.
Â
Molly Garnand converted a free throw and
Bailey Fong added two more from the charity stripe to extend the Warrior lead to 7-3.
Sage Kramer scored next, stealing a ball under the Warriors' basket before being fouled. She sank both free throws to put the Warriors ahead 9-3.
Â
Kiefer then collected an offensive rebound and scored on a jumper. Kramer followed with a six-foot jumper, giving Westmont a 13-3 lead.
Â
Dolny broke the Warrior run with a layup and a free throw to make the score 13-6. On the Warriors' offensive end,
Navine Mallon lobbed a ball into the paint to
Jazmyn Shipp who completed a layup to put Westmont up 15-6.
Â
The next Warrior points came when Brown fed the ball to Shipp under the basket and Shipp scored on a layup. A foul in the paint sent Mallon to the line who drained both attempts, making it a 19-6 game. A reverse layup by
Bailey Fong with two second left on the clock gave Westmont a 21-6 advantage at the end of the first quarter of play.
Â
Seven different Warriors scored in the opening frame.
Â
Fong started off the second quarter by connecting on a floater in the paint to make the score 23-6. Then, Libby Hein made a free throw for Chaminade, ending a 10-0 Westmont run.
Â
Noemie Bariteau stole an inbound pass at midcourt, raced to the hoop, and laid the ball in the basket. Then Dolny scored on two layups in a row resulting in a 25-11 score. Kramer responded with the Warriors' first triple, before the Silverswords' Kylie Squier hit a jumper making the score 28-13.
Â
When Fong was fouled, objections from the Chaminade bench resulted in a technical foul. The result was four made free throws - two by Fong and two by Bariteau. Then, Selena Buttery dropped in a 3-pointer for the Silverswords, making the score 32-16.
Â
Shipp responded with another Warrior three before Squier converted two free throws, producing a 35-18 score. A long two-point shot by Fong was followed by a triple by Squier resulting in 37-21 showing on the scoreboard. Then, Brown struck from downtown. Fouled on the next possession, Brown drained both free throws, to give Westmont its first 20-plus point advantage of the game (42-21).
Â
However, Ashley Holen hit from beyond the arc to cut Westmont's lead to 42-24 headed into the intermission.
Â
Buttery knifed in a three to start the second-half scoring, but Fong responded in kind to make the score 45-27. After Alyssa Schuetze hit a jumper for Chaminade, Brown scored on a turn-around jumper. Then, Shipp scored on another jumper, making it a 49-29 game at the media timeout.
Â
After the resumption of play, Kramer inbounded the ball to Shipp in the lane, who executed a hook shot, extending Westmont's advantage. Then Parado scored from the left-hand corner, making the score 51-32.

Â
A short jumper by Shipp in the paint was followed by a pull-up jumper by Brown that made the score 67-42, extending the Warrior lead to 25 points.
Â
With 4:11 to play,
Annie Gibbons scored on a layup. As a result, every Warrior in uniform had scored.
Â
After an uncontested layup by Schuetze, Fong scored again on a jumper from the elbow. Then Kramer scored after retrieving her own offensive rebound, making the score 73-44.
Â
A layup by Schuetze was answered by a jumper by Gibbons, resulting in a final score of 75-46.
Â
Ask to assess her team at this point of the season, Moore responded, "I think we have put ourselves in a position to be in the fight. That is where we want to be. Coming back, our first two games are against teams near the top of the conference standings. So, we are going to see where we are at. That can keep us motivated over break.
Â
"We have to keep getting better. We are definitely not where we want to be – especially putting together four quarters on the defensive end. So, we are going to keep working towards that. However, I am excited about the potential of this group and their buy-in. There is a lot to look forward to in the new year.
Â
