(AZUSA, Calif.) Westmont Women's Basketball (15-8, 11-5 PacWest) lost a road game to the Cougars of Azusa Pacific (20-4, 14-3) by a score of 85-68 on Wednesday evening at the Felix Events Center.

Jazmyn Shipp had a big night for the Warriors, tallying 24 points and eight rebounds while making 11 of 14 from the floor.
Sage Kramer added 13 points and seven boards and
Mariah Brown contributed 10 points.
Noemie Bariteau added nine points in 18 minutes of play.

The Warriors had trouble slowing down the Cougars' offense which tallied 25 points in the first quarter and 24 in the second. By halftime, Azusa Pacific held a 13-point advantage (49-36).

Azusa built their advantage to 20 when Audrey Sayoc converted on a jumper in the paint with 3:46 remaining in the penultimate period. Headed into the final frame, the Cougars were up 66-49.

Less than three minutes into the fourth quarter, Westmont had whittled the lead down to 11 points (69-58) when Shipp tipped the ball into the net. However, the Warriors would get no closer.

With four games remaining in the regular season, Westmont finds itself in fifth place in the PacWest standings, The Warriors are one-half game behind Dominican which is in fourth place at 11-4.

Westmont returns from Azusa only to hit the road again this weekend for a Saturday game with Academy of Art. The game will be held at Laney College in Oakland. Tip-off is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
