(LOS ANGELES) Westmont women's golf competed for the first time in four months, starting up the spring season at the Rio Hondo Golf Club in Downey. The Warriors participated in the LA Spring Kickoff hosted by Cal State Los Angeles.

"The results were not our focus this week," said Westmont's head coach Leo Maes. "Our goal was to gain the momentum we had built in the fall with our team chemistry. I know our ladies enjoyed the week and our energy was great. They look forward to the PCH Invitational in a couple of weeks. As this season continues, we understand each opportunity we compete for are valuable reps to build towards our conference event in April"

Noelle Thompson and Sydnee Magpoc tied for the low scores on the team with each shooting a 158 (+16) for two rounds. Thompson shot a 78 on Monday and a 72 on Tuesday. Magpoc recorded a 77 on day one and an 81 on day two.

The Warriors will be back in action on Monday and Tuesday, February 24-25 when they return to Quail Lodge Golf Club in Carmel-by-the-Sea for the PCH Spring Invitational
