(OJAI, Calif.) Hannah Camara shot the lowest rounds on both days of the TMU Spring Invitational at Soule Park Golf Course to claim the tournament's individual championship. The sophomore shot a one-under 71 for the first round and then shot 74 on day two. She finished five-strokes ahead of second-place Hannah Ulibarri of The Master's.

"Hannah's victory is no surprise to us," said Westmont's head coach Leo Maes. "She loves to compete and sets daily goals for herself. Our entire program is proud of her, and I believe this is just the beginning of her success in the winner's circle."

As a team, the Warriors finished fourth out of eight teams with a score of 652, moving up from fifth after day one. Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) won the tournament with a score of 616, followed by Hope International (628) and Milligan of Tennessee (629.) Westmont finished four strokes ahead of The Master's (656).

"We continue to focus on each day, and I believe this was evident in the tournament," offered Maes. "The ladies fought hard to move up the leaderboard, and for that, I am extremely proud of them."

Camara recorded five birdies on Monday, then came back with four more on Tuesday to lead the field with a total of nine birdies. She did not record more than a bogey on any hole on either day, leading to a two-round score of one-over par.

"Coming down the stretch the last day, I didn't know where I stood on the leaderboard," reported Camara. "I knew that I was close because I was confident with how I was playing. I just focused on letting go of my bad shots and being present for everything because I knew that they all mattered. It all just came down to trusting where I was at with my game and the work I've put in, and to putting my faith and trust in God."

Sydnee Magpoc was the Warriors' second finisher, posting rounds of 81 and 84 to finish 22nd. Kyla Layman shot two rounds of 85 to tie for 27th. Liz Oloteo and Brooke Bloom were part of a four-way tie for 29th place. Oloteo shot 88 on Monday and then 85 on Tuesday. Bloom shot an 89 on day one and followed that up with a round of 84.

"We have a brief break before our last tournament prior to the conference event," noted Maes. "The ladies are eager to engage in the process and put forth their best efforts in their daily lives. The conference is about a month out, and we are grateful for this time to continue our growth both on and off the course."

Westmont Women's Golf will play in the Sonoma State Tournament at the Santa Rosa Golf Club on April 7-8. The three-day PacWest Tournament will be held April 21-23 at the Aliante Golf Club in North Las Vegas.
