(LINCOLN, Calif.) Westmont Baseball (24-7, 19-5) suffered two, one-run losses on Saturday in a doubleheader at Jessup (22-9, 19-7). Westmont lost the first game 7-8 and the second 5-6 in 10 innings.

In the first game, Westmont trailed 2-5 heading into the fifth inning before tying the game with three runs. The first run came on an RBI single by Jack Bollengier that drove in Daniel Patterson from second. Jesse Di Maggio followed with a double to left field driving in Bryce McFeely from third and Bollengier from second.

However, Jessup tallied two runs in the bottom of the fifth and another in the sixth to restore a three-run lead.

A solo home run by Patterson in the top of the seventh made it a two-run game. Then, McFeely scored on a passed ball, pulling the Warriors within one. Unfortunately, the Warriors were unable to find the tying run.

A positive from the first rounds was the return of Hunter Hammond to the mound, pitching the final two scoreless innings and striking out two.

In the second game, Westmont took a 4-0 lead in the fourth inning. Patterson scored the first run on a successful squeeze bunt by Bollengier. Dunn then homered to left field, driving in McFeely. A solo home run by Shane Hofstadler accounted for the final run.

After Jessup scored a single run in the bottom of the fifth, Westmont added another in the top of the sixth. With Isaac Veal on second, Hofstadler delivered an RBI-double to left, giving Westmont a four-run lead.

Jessup scored once in the bottom of the sixth, then tied the game on a three-run, pinch hit home run in the bottom of the seventh by Gabe Harris, sending the game to extra innings.

After a scoreless eighth and ninth, Cody Antone produced a walk-off single, driving in Dominic Ott from second.

The loss spoiled an outstanding start by Ryan Humphreys who pitched five innings, allowing one run on one hit while striking out 11 and walking two.

The two teams are scheduled to play again on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m., weather permitting.
