(IRVINE, Calif.) Westmont Men's Tennis was tasked with taking on #19 Concordia on Saturday, and the Golden Eagles got the better of the Warriors by a score of SCORE. The match result moved Concordia to 15-3.
Â
In doubles, the Warriors came narrowly close to stealing a point, with
Austin Stone and
Goor Adiv defeating the #12 doubles team in the nation on court by a score of 6-4. CUI won soundly on three, and the doubles point came down to court two, where
Owen Vander Ark and
Diego De Cooman once led 5-4. Unfortunately, CUI's number-two doubles team, Spencer Cinco and Adam Kartzinel, outlasted Westmont's to win it 7-6 (4).
Â
Still, not getting lost in the shuffle was the performance of Stone and Adiv on two, where they became the first team in the PacWest this season to hand Felix Veyhle and Max Mueller a loss in doubles.
Â
In singles, Concordia took care of business and swept the Warriors, with
Diego De Cooman and
Valentin Dignac standing as the only two Westmont players to win a set.
Â
The Warriors regular season will come to an end next week, with four matches beginning on Monday in Santa Barbara.
