(SAN DIEGO, Calif.) Point Loma's Tennis teams put on a dominant showing earlier today at the expense of both Westmont's men's and women's programs. Westmont Men's Tennis (3-2) fell to Point Loma (1-3) on Saturday in San Diego by a score of 6-1. In doubles, the Sea Lions teams at line one (6-3) and line three (6-2) came out victorious, while they also led 5-2 at line two at the time of clinch.
Â
That dominance carried over into singles, where the Sea Lions conceded only once. That was on court five, where
Zach Steinberg provided the highlight of the day for Westmont with a 6-3, 7-5 against Leo Bormann.
Â
On the women's side, Point Loma (2-2) swept Westmont (2-2) by a score of 7-0.
Sabina Salva and
Rylee Halsey both forced third sets in singles, Salva at line two, and Halsey at line five, but neither was quite able to put the Warriors on the board as the Sea Lions twice prevailed in three.
Â
Westmont's women will return to action on Wednesday at CSUN, while Westmont's men will play next Saturday at home against Menlo.
