(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Westmont Men's and Women's Track and Field had a busy start to their four-day weekend, as they hosted the Warrior Relays in Santa Barbara. The Warriors got to test themselves this weekend against a couple PacWest foes in Biola and Fresno Pacific, while also competing against Cal Lutheran and UCSB.

On the men's side, Joshua Lin posted the second-fastest 600 meter dash time in program history on Saturday, when he finished first amongst attached athletes with a time of 1:19.30. The only time faster is Lin's time of 1:18.13 from the Rust-Buster Tri-Meet.

Also for the men, Timothy Johnson finished first in the mile among attached athletes, finishing with a time of 4:24.14. Just behind Johnson was teammate Jaeden Anderson, who crossed with a time of 4:24.25. In the men's weight throw, new program record holder David Oyebade finished with the second-best mark of the competition with a distance of 15.92m (52-2.75). Oyebade, who also owns Westmont's record in the hammer, displaced Jack Dickinson's previous best of 15.10m from January of 2019. Joel Nakazawa also beat Dickinson's record this weekend, as he finished third in the weight throw with a mark of 15.78m (51-9.25). Nakazawa now sits as the number-two performer in program history behind Oyebade.

Oyebade and Nakazawa also finished second (44.39m) and third (42.33m) in the discus. Lucas DeDora not only won the men's javelin with a heave of 58.59m (192-3), but he also made himself the number-seven performer in program history in the event.

In totality, Westmont's men won the seven-team meet with a score of 136, narrowly coming in ahead of Fresno who finished with 130.5.

In the women's 600 meter dash, Claire Van Horn finished with the day's second-best time, coming within half of a second of the competition's winner with a time of 1:38.85. In the long jump, Westmont's Ava Hsieh finished with the meet's second-best mark, a jump of 4.96m (16-3.25).

Noella Breytenbach also finished second in the pentathlon, finishing with 2,742 points. Her best event compared to the field was a mark of 10.68m (35-0.5) in the shot put.

Westmont's women finished in fourth of seven teams.
