(FULLERTON, Calif.) Westmont Men's Tennis (3-0) continues to roll to open their season, as their latest victory came at the ends of former rival Hope International by a score of 5-2. The day began with another doubles win for the Warriors, followed by four wins in singles to cap off another great day.

In doubles the team's best work was done at line two and line three, where Diego Cooman and Zach Steinberg (6-2), and Rafael Matias and Arjun Sivakumar (6-1) took care of business.

In singles Driss Sedrati made quick work of Sebastien Perez on line three (6-2, 6-0) similarly to Sidharth Maharana's dispatch of Michael Lumang on court six (6-1, 6-2).

Diego De Cooman eventually won a third-set tiebreaker post-clinch, as he outlasted Reid Lizardo 6-1, 6-7, 7-10. Zach Steinberg was also victorious on court four 6-3, 6-4.

"I challenged the guys before the match with a quote from Aristotle," said head coach Chris Elwood. "The quote says, 'excellence is not an act, but it is a habit. We are what we repeatedly do'. After that, the guys brought it today.

"This was quite an energy-filled match. This was probably the most vocal team we've played against, and they also brought a lot of talent. It was awesome to see the guys respond to this environment with such a great win.

"Driss Sedrati got us started with a quick win on three, followed by Sid Maharana and Zach Steinberg. Then Diego's super-breaker win was super exciting, coming from behind 7-5 to win five straight points in the end. It was a very quality match, and now the guys get a well-deserved break tomorrow because we are back at it Monday."

On Monday the Warriors play their first PacWest opponent, with Azusa Pacific coming to town for a 2:00 p.m. start.
