(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) Brandon Tatch of Aliso Niguel leads a group of five Westmont players to receive All-PacWest Baseball honors. Tatch was named to the first team as a relief pitcher. Caden Beloian of El Dorado Hills and Joey Rico from Visalia were selected for the second team as a starting pitcher and utility pitcher respectively. Outfielders Grant Yzermans from Murrieta and Isaac Veal of Santa Barbara were chosen for the third team.

"All five of our young men selected for All-PacWest this year are well deserving and did a tremendous job on and off the baseball diamond," said Westmont's head coach Paul Svagdis. "To represent Westmont College as PacWest all-stars is a great accomplishment and something our coaches and their teammates appreciate and respect."

Tatch, who made 15 appearances for the Warriors – all in relief – led the Warriors with eight saves. He also notched a win-loss record of 2-1 while posting a team-low earned run average of 2.42. Tatch struck out 23 and walked just six in 26 innings.

Beloian made 12 appearances and 11 starts, providing 65 1/3 innings of work. His three complete games is the most of any Warriors since the 2020 season. Beloian tallied a record of 4-3, recording 52 strikeouts against 19 walks while posting an earned run average of 4.41.

Rico also notched a record of 4-3, making 13 appearances and 10 starts. In 61 2/3 innings, Rico tallied an earned run average of 4.38 and threw a team-high 62 strikeouts while walking 27. A two-way player, Rico also played in right field and served as a designated hitter. At the plate, he averaged .293, delivered eight doubles and five home runs, and drove in 22 runs. Rico's 26 walks as a batter was second most on the team and helped lead to a .432 on base percentage and a 0.912 OPS.

Yzermans, who struggled with an injury in the last few weeks of the year, posted a .344 batting average with seven doubles, two triples, eight home runs and 27 runs batted in. His .624 slugging percentage was second on the team and led to a 1.046 OPS. In 59 chances patrolling left field, Yzermans did not commit an error.

Veal, the Warrior's everyday center fielder, batted .347 with 11 doubles, 10 home runs and 42 runs batted in. His .584 slugging percentage tied for best on the team. Veal – the only player for the Warriors to start in each of the team's 50 games – recorded a 0.987 OPS. Veal recorded a .993 fielding percentage with just one error in 145 chances.

"All five have been tremendous leaders," pointed out Svagdis, "and we are grateful that they are all returning next year as seniors and juniors."
