(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) The 2026 Westmont Baseball season came to an end on Thursday when the Warriors (29-21) fell to the Golden Eagles of Concordia (30-24) by a score of 12-3 on the second day of the PacWest Baseball Championship.

Warrior bats were silent for the first four innings as Concordia's Wyatt Madison retired the first 12 batters he faced. Meanwhile the Golden Eagles tallied eight runs scoring three in the first, one in the second and four more in the fourth.

Jesse Di Maggio provided the Warriors with their first base runner when he was walked on four pitches to start off the fifth. However, Madison struck out the next three batters he faced in the fifth, and the first he saw in the sixth.

Westmont still trailed 8-0 headed into the bottom of the seventh when Isaac Veal worked a full-count, lead-off walk. That brought up Jesse Di Maggio with the Warriors still looking for their first hit of the game – a hit Di Maggio provided. The Warriors' first baseman cleared the fence in left field for a two-run home run.

Then, Bobby Logue stepped up to the plate and sent a solo shot over the fence in right-center field. That pulled Westmont to within five (8-3), courtesy of the back-to-back home runs.

In the top of the eighth, however, Concordia's Nicolas Erickson delivered his own three-run home run, this one leaving the park in center field and making the score 11-3. The Golden Eagles added one more in the top of the ninth to account for the final score.

While the loss brought an end to the Warriors' season, it did not bring an end to the PacWest Championship at Russ Carr Field. In game number four, Fresno Pacific and Point Loma faced off as the only undefeated teams from the first day of competition. Point Loma took control of the game with a 12-run, sixth inning that included three Sea Lion home runs – two of them grand slams. The Sea Lions went on to win 18-4.

Then in the fifth game of the tournament, and the third of the day, Concordia eliminated Fresno Pacific with a 13-3 victory. The win advanced the Golden Eagles into Friday's championship game and a showdown with Point Loma.

The first of possibly two games between the two top seeds will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. If Point Loma wins, Concordia will pick up its second loss and the Sea Lions will claim the championship. However, if Concordia prevails, the tournament will continue with a winner-take-all game seven. First pitch is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
