(DALLAS) Westmont pitcher
Brandon Tatch has been selected by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association for postseason honors. The sophomore from Aliso Viejo was named as a relief pitcher to the NCBWA NCAA Division II All-West Region Second Team.
Â
"Brandon has shown tremendous growth as a pitcher over the last two years," said Westmont's head coach
Paul Svagdis. "He has the tremendous ability to compete in high leverage situations and has proven to be a great leader to his teammates on and off the baseball field."
Â
Tatch appeared in 15 games during the 2026 season, posting an earned run average of 2.42 in 26 innings of relief. The right hander, who posted a record of 2-1, led the team with eight saves. He struck out 23 and permitted just six walks.
Â
Tatch earned both of his wins in February against Azusa Pacific and Fresno Pacific, allowing just one run in five and two-third innings to start the year. Over five games from March 7 through April 3, Tatch recorded five saves in as many appearances. During that stretch he allowed just one run on three hits over five and two-third innings.
Â
His seventh and eight saves of the year both came in one-run ball games, pitching the final three innings in each game. On April 20, Tatch held the Sharks of Hawai'i Pacific scoreless to preserve a 1-0 win. He allowed just two hits and struck out two.
Â
On May 1, Tatch picked up his final save of the season by keeping Menlo scoreless in a 3-2 win. The victory helped position the Warriors for a berth in the PacWest Tournament.
