SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. — The Westmont Warriors women's volleyball team wrapped up the Yotes Classic Showcase on Saturday at Coussoulis Arena, dropping a competitive four-set decision to Seattle Pacific in the morning (17–25, 25–21, 21–25, 23–25) before battling back for a thrilling five-set victory (25–18, 21–25, 25–23, 22–25, 15–11) over Cal State LA in the evening.
The evening victory gave Westmont its first win of the season. Anchoring the Warriors across both matches was outside hitter Audrey Hyde, whose dominant performance throughout the showcase earned her a spot on the Yotes Classic Showcase All-Tournament Team.
Morning Match: Seattle Pacific 3, Westmont 1
Westmont dropped a tight opener against SPU, battling through 28 tie scores and 12 lead changes before falling in four sets. After dropping the opening set, the Warriors bounced back to take the second frame 25–21 behind sharp attacking, but SPU pulled away in two close closing sets.

Key Stats: Westmont posted 52 kills on a .194 hitting percentage, while SPU countered with 54 kills on a .208 clip.

Warrior Highlights: Audrey Hyde paced the Warrior attack with a match-high 14 kills while hitting .400 (30 attempts, 2 errors) to go along with 5 digs. Middle blockers Camila Cornejo-Farmer (8 kills, 2 blocks) and Jordan Weston (7 kills, 3 blocks) provided strong productivity at the net. Setter Sierra McClure dished out 26 assists alongside 10 digs, while libero Rylee Elias anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs.
Head Coach Ruth McGolpin (Post-Seattle Pacific):
"Middle productivity was great—Camila Cornejo-Farmer and Jordan Weston did an excellent job being available in the attack. Audrey Hyde had another formidable performance as well. Defensively I thought we did pretty well, but it was just a little too late. We need to have that grit throughout the entire match. Here we are with a pretty new team on the floor running different things, so I knew there would be some growing pains, but we've got to bounce back."
Evening Match: Westmont 3, Cal State LA 2
In the nightcap, Westmont delivered a complete, gritty performance to outlast Cal State LA in five sets. The Warriors came out on fire, hitting .519 with 17 kills in set one. After CSULA took sets two and four to push the match to the distance, Westmont hit .273 in the fifth frame to secure the 15–11 victory.

Key Stats: Westmont out-killed Cal State LA 66–53 and hit .217 while holding the Golden Eagles to a .166 hitting percentage.

Warrior Highlights: Audrey Hyde put on a show on the pin, leading all players with a double-double of 19 kills and 22 digs. Jordan Weston added 11 kills (.346 hitting percentage) and Camila Cornejo-Farmer contributed 10 kills (.350 hitting percentage), while Ceanna O'Loughlin notched 11 kills. Sierra McClure orchestrated the attack with a match-high 57 assists and 12 digs. Off the bench, Elarika Eiklor came up big with 7 kills—six of which came in the crucial fifth set. Rylee Elias tallied 19 digs.
Head Coach Ruth McGolpin (Post-Cal State LA):
"That was a gritty game for us. Cal State LA came with a complete game too, and definitely the monkey's off our back on that one, so that was great. We had amazing productivity out of our middle attack for sure, both Camila and Jordan. Sierra had an amazing game running the offense, and our pin attack from Audrey—I mean, she was unbelievable the whole tournament. Elarika Eiklor came up big in the big moment, as did Ceanna O'Loughlin. Just a good team win and a complete effort from start to finish."
