SANTA BARBARA, Calif. — The Westmont women's volleyball team notched its third consecutive victory on Wednesday evening, storming back after an opening-set setback to defeat Biola 3–1 (21–25, 25–14, 25–15, 25–21) at Murchison Gymnasium.

The Warriors (6-8, 3-3 PacWest) put on an offensive clinic over the final three sets, hitting an incredible .341 as a team across the match while holding Biola to a .140 clip.

"Beating a quality opponent tonight is a great step forward for our program in Division II," said Westmont Head Coach Ruth McGolpin. "This conference is so competitive—on any given night, anyone can win. I felt like we followed the game plan to a T. Our preparation was spot-on, and the team executed extremely well."

Senior Audrey Hyde anchored the Westmont attack with a match-high 14 kills while hitting a blistering .538 on 26 total attacks without committing an error. Junior outside hitter Ceanna O'Loughlin delivered another stellar performance with 11 kills (.429 hitting percentage) and five block assists, while Camila Cornejo-Farmer added 10 kills on a .409 hitting percentage and five block assists.

After dropping the opening set 25–21, Westmont took total control in the second frame. The Warriors hit an outstanding .609 in set two (14 kills, 0 errors) to even the match at 1–1 with a dominant 25–14 set victory.

Westmont's composure proved pivotal throughout unusual match delays during play.

"Our team didn't waver—they stayed calm, focused, and showed great maturity in those moments," McGolpin noted. "Our core emphasis tonight was centered on accountability, relentless defensive grit, and having the courage in tight moments to close out the win. Our net defense was incredible, and both our middles and pins stepped up huge."

Defensively, libero Rylee Elias led all players with 17 digs, while Alyson Wurster added 12 digs. At the net, Jordan Weston posted nine block assists as Westmont racked up 14.0 total team blocks (28 block assists) to frustrate Biola's attack. Setters Sierra McClure (20 assists) and Lily Underwood (16 assists) effectively distributed the offense, while Quin Frohoff provided key minutes off the bench with three kills and three blocks.

"Everything came together in a great way tonight, and our home crowd was fantastic in driving our momentum," McGolpin added. "Putting together three strong wins in a row is huge for us."

Westmont continues its home stand at Murchison Gymnasium on Friday, October 2, when they host No. 22 Concordia Irvine at 7:00 PM.

"It doesn't get any easier with another nationally ranked team coming to town on Friday," McGolpin stated. "We have a quick turnaround to prepare, but our goal is to maintain this high standard of execution and put this performance on repeat."
