Women's Tennis Coaching Records

The Westmont women’s tennis program has had success on the national level almost from the year it started. Women’s intercollegiate tennis began at Westmont in 1975, and just two years later placed seventh in the AIAW national championships. That was followed by two more top-15 national finishes in AIAW competition.

The first year of NAIA national competition in women’s tennis was in 1982. Westmont christened the event by claiming the inaugural national title. Head coach Chris Milner was named the NAIA National Coach of the Year. The Warriors have competed in the NAIA National Tournament 29 times, placing among the top 20 teams on 23 occasions.

Kathy LeSage, a former All-American for the Warriors, took over the coaching reigns from Milner and was head coach of the women’s tennis program for 28 years. She posted a record of 303-278 and took the Warriors to 20 NAIA National Tournaments.

Former NAIA All-American Cade Pierson took over as head coach of the Warriors ahead of the 2023 season. The club's first season in the NCAA commenced in 2024, with their first year of full eligibility coming in 2025.

Westmont tennis has produced 31 NAIA All-Americans and 19 NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
