Nate Marsing

  • Title
    Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Nate Marsing was a prominent member on the 2014-2015 Westmont men’s basketball team that reached the NAIA National Championship game. In 2022, he returned to the program as an assistant under Landon Boucher.

“Nate was created to be a coach,” said former Westmont head coach John Moore. “He has a sense of the game well beyond his age and communicates with uncommon poise, passion and clarity. Westmont is fortunate to have a man with a love of the game, deep character and a teacher’s heart in Nate.”

Marsing has been involved in high-level basketball since graduating from San Clemente High School in 2009. From there, he played at Saddleback College before transferring to Westmont. His achievements in college afforded him the opportunity to play professionally abroad in Antwerp, Belgium and Adelaide, Austraila (reuniting with Daniel Carlin, his co-captain at Westmont.)

In 2017, Marsing joined the coaching staff at Prolific Prep in Napa, California, under Billy McKnight.

“We often spoke of Nate’s time at Westmont and how the school and former coach John Moore had influenced him in such a positive manner,” McKnight said. “Throughout his years as an assistant at Prolific Prep, he was an invaluable asset. His energy and character set a great example for our athletes daily. His ability to teach the game and – more importantly – connect and mentor scholar-athletes is uncommon.”

Marsing graduated from Westmont in 2015, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and Business.
