Steven Lenhart

Steven Lenhart is the newest assistant coach. As an NAIA National Champion (2007) and an MLS Cup Champion (2008), Lenhart has experience contributing to the success of teams at high levels. Lenhart is scheduled to complete a Master of Science in Sport and Performance Psychology by the end of 2024 and will test to become certified as a Certified Mental Performance Coach (CMPC). 

Lenhart played alongside head coach Morgan Cathey at Azusa Pacific University, and the two have stayed in close connection through their journeys in soccer. 

Lenhart played in the Major League Soccer for nine years, and was drafted by the Columbus Crew in 2008 and traded to the San Jose Earthquakes in 2011. Lenhart also lived in Japan for a season playing for J4 side FC Imabari. 

Lenhart speaks Spanish, has worked extensively in refugee camps in the Middle East, and participates in and leads an extensive former player network for MLS players thru the MLS Players Association. Lenhart enjoys riding his dirt bike, practicing piano, baking, and quilting, and is committed to exercising regularly, primarily swimming.
