In 2022, Libby Dahlberg will return for her fourth season on McGolpin's staff.
In Libby Dahlberg's first season as an assistant coach (2019), the Warriors reached the NAIA national championship game for the first time in program history and won the Golden State Athletic Conference Tournament championship. The team also shared the GSAC regular season title.
Dahlberg's second year on the coaching staff (2020) included having to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic. Although nine of the club's matches were postponed/canceled due to COVID protocols, the Warriors still managed to go 15-2, including a 10-0 record in conference play.
Dahlberg joined the Westmont volleyball coaching staff ahead of the 2019 season after graduating from the college in May of that year with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. During her four seasons as a Warrior, she put together one of the most impressive careers in program history.
Libby was twice named GSAC Player of the Year and is a two-time First Team NAIA All-American. She made the All-GSAC team three times, including when she was GSAC Freshman of the Year in 2015.
Dahlberg finished her Westmont career with the second highest attack pct. (.382), third most total blocks (447), third most blocks/set (1.10), 12th most kills (1,121), and 14th most kills/set (2.77) in program history.
She helped her team to three NAIA National Tournament appearances in her four years, including two trips to the national quarterfinals. Dahlberg led her team to two consecutive GSAC regular season championships in 2016 and 2017, when the Warriors went undefeated both years in conference play. She also helped Westmont win the inaugural GSAC Tournament championship in 2017.
“I am incredibly excited to work with Ruth and Sarah, and to coach my former teammates,” Dahlberg said. “Westmont volleyball has been and continues to be such an important part of my life.”
Dahlberg also received the Dr. LeRoy Walker Champions of Character Award from the NAIA in 2019. She was a GSAC and NAIA Scholar-Athlete in 2017 and 2018.
