Bailey Lemmon

Bailey Lemmon (‘23) is an alumnus of Westmont College and its women’s swimming team. She was head coach Jill Lin’s first recruit to sign to the inaugural program, coming on to specialize in sprint freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke. During her first season, Lemmon was honored as the PCSC NAIA Swimmer of the Week on October 15, 2019, becoming the first in program history to earn the honor. At the Warriors’ first PCSC Championships, she earned PCSC All-Conference honorable mention honors with a 15th place finish in the 50 freestyle. Lemmon qualified for and competed in three individual races and four relays at the NAIA National Championships in 2020, including the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 backstroke. She set 11 program records throughout the season – seven individual (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 100 backstroke, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 100 IM) and four relay (200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 200 medley, 400 medley). Lemmon also earned CSCAA Scholar All-American Honorable Mention honors. After an electrifying first year, Lemmon battled shoulder surgery and recovery throughout her sophomore and junior years and did not compete. Determined to conclude her final year at Westmont with ferocity and gratitude, Lemmon helped the Warriors conclude their final season in the NAIA with record-breaking times. As a senior, Lemmon served as a team captain for the 2022-2023 season. She rounded out her final conference championships earning four PCSC All-Conference Awards: 100 butterfly (5th), 400 freestyle relay (7th), 200 medley relay (8th), 400 medley relay (7th). She additionally received two PCSC honorable mentions: 50 freestyle (9th), 200 freestyle relay (9th). Lemmon qualified for the NAIA National Championships in with three individual events and four relays, including the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly. At Nationals, Lemmon earned four NAIA All-American honors: 50 freestyle (7th), 200 freestyle relay (7th), 200 medley relay (8th), 400 freestyle relay (6th). She was also named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and named to the PCSC All-Academic First Team. When she concluded her four years at Westmont, Lemmon had set seven school records – four individual events (50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 50 butterfly, 100 butterfly) and three relay events (200 freestyle relay, 400 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay). With a B.A. in Communication Studies and four years of experience as a Westmont student-athlete, she is excited to rejoin the team as an assistant coach to continue her investment in the legacy of the Westmont swim program.
