(SANTA BARBARA, Calif.) The Westmont men's basketball team (9-6) stepped onto the court for their fourth game in six days tonight as they took on and defeated La Sierra University (0-13) by a score of 82-62.

If the Westmont men were exhausted from a long week of back-to-back games, they certainly did not show it tonight. If anything, they were moving a step faster than they have recently. From a spectator standpoint it seemed like a continuous game of "hot potato" as the men were sharply passing the ball and quickly getting it to their open shooters. They were drawing their defenders just enough, so that they could then dish the ball out to their open teammates.

The precise way that Westmont was moving the ball is directly reflected in the number of assists that they had this evening. By the completion of the game, 23 of their 27 total baskets scored came from assists. That means that there were only four shots made that were not tag-teamed baskets.

"The great indicator of tonight's game was the number of baskets to assists. Daniel (Carlin) had three assists, while Cory (Blau), Britton (Williams) and Sean (Harman) ended with four each, "reflected John Moore."Anytime you have those kinds of numbers, you're on the right track. Twenty three assists to twenty seven baskets is a ratio that is really, really hard to do. It was a great indicator of how we continue to shoot it well from the three point line."

The three point line has been the hot spot for Westmont this week. In the last four games alone, the Warriors have made 43 of their total 89 attempts from outside of the arc. Sean Harman has been 13 for 20 from the three point line this week (65 percent) while Cory Blau has been 11 for 21 on his recent long distance shots (52 percent).

"We got really good play by Sean Harman and Cory Blau again this evening. I also thought Britton (Williams) played one of his better, more aggressive games for us tonight," exclaimed Moore.

Blau led the charge tonight with 20 points, while Harman had 17, Carlin coupled 14 points with eight rebounds and Williams notched 11 points and three steals.

The Warriors (9-6, 2-1 GSAC) are hoping to build on the momentum from the last few days as they head back into conference play this upcoming week. They will head to Northern California as they match up against William Jessup University on Tuesday January 6 at 7:30 p.m.
