Westmont (11-1) drove hard out of the gate Saturday night en route to an 80-64 victory over Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (6-1). The Warriors shot an impressive 65% in the first half and played intense defense while taking a 46-21 lead into the break.
Cory Blau led all Westmont scorers with 20 points, including four baskets from beyond the three-point line.
Though both teams had nearly the same number of shot attempts, Westmont's balanced offense overshadowed an excellent shooting night from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps' Michael Scarlett, who led his team with 18 points. Five Warriors—

Samuel Bentz—each scored in double digits. Westmont outrebounded their opponents 33 to 26 and had three blocks. The Warriors' next game is a home contest against the University of the Fraser Valley (5-6) on December 29 at 7:30 P.M.
