(SAN DIMAS, Calif.) Westmont Women's Basketball (11-2, 4-0 GSAC) returned to Golden State Athletic Conference play this evening with a 75-53 road win over Life Pacific. However, the game wasn't as lopsided as the score might indicate.

"Life was really scrappy," noted Westmont head coach Kirsten Moore. "They played a great game, they shot well from the 3-point line and they made it really tough on us."

The Life Pacific led much of the first quarter and by as much as five points (22-17) four minutes into the second. However, #4 Westmont rallied with an 18-3 run to end the first half and take a 10-point advantage (35-25) into the locker room at halftime. In the second half, Westmont was able to put some distance between the two Warrior teams.

"It was a really gutsy effort by our team today, led again by Maud Ranger with 16 rebounds and 14 points", reported Moore. "Iyree, on the offensive end, was really phenomenal – making right reads, creating for her teammates, finishing both inside and out."

Jarrett led all scorers with 24 points, connecting on five of 10 from long distance. Jarrett and Ranger contributed four assists each as well.

Gabriella Stoll added 10 points to the Warriors' effort while Stefanie Berberabe tallied nine points and eight rebounds. Kaitlin Larson notched eight points and 10 boards.

"Overall, we did a great job on the boards with 46 rebounds, and we took care of the ball," added Moore.

Westmont committed just six turnovers, which led to just two points by Life Pacific. Conversely, Westmont forced 15 turnovers that led to 18 points.

In other GSAC action, William Jessup (10-4, 3-0) upset #22 Menlo (6-6. 2-1) by a score of 70-59 in Rocklin while OUAZ (8-3, 1-2) went on the road to knock off Arizona Christian (4-8, 0-3) by a 93-88 margin. Third-ranked and undefeated The Master's (16-0, 4-0) posted a 97-51 win over Hope International (10-3, 1-3) in Santa Clarita.

As a result, Westmont and The Master's remained tied atop the GSAC standings, one-half game ahead of William Jessup and a game and one-half ahead of #5 Vanguard (8-2, 2-1) and Menlo.

The Warriors will travel to Northern California next week to take on Menlo on Thursday and William Jessup on Saturday.
