Match Recap: Men's Tennis |

Season Ends for Westmont Tennis

(SAN DIEGO, Calif.) Westmont Men's and Women's Tennis saw their seasons come to a close on Saturday, when they paid a visit to the Point Loma Sea Lions in San Diego. The day began with Westmont's men losing 5-2, before Westmont's women lost by a score of 7-0.

While the men's match ultimately ended in defeat, there were still some silver linings for a pair of Westmont's graduating seniors. Both of Westmont's points came in singles, where Ethan Ha and Logan Thompson capped off their careers with a pair of wins.

On two, Logan Thompson got Westmont on the board with a 7-6 (5), 6-3 win over Andrew Suver. The win was Thompson's 10th singles victory of the season, by far the most on Westmont's team. Ha dropped his first set 6-2 to Davis Strassburger, before forcing a third-set 7-5. Given the match had already been clinched for the Sea Lions, Ha and Strassburger then played an abbreviated third-set tiebreaker.

In what has been a frustrating senior season for one of Westmont's captains, the ever-passionate Ha got to let out one last roar in a Westmont uniform, as he defeated Strassburger 11-9 in the final set of his career.

For Westmont's women, the lone Warrior to force a third set was the club's best player, Francesca Aguirre. Aguirre, who took set one 6-4, ultimately fell to Amanda Letzring after a 6-2 loss in set two, and a 10-7 tiebreaker in set three.

Westmont Tennis will return to competition in the PacWest in 2025, in what is expected to be Westmont's final year of probation in NCAA Division II.
