Debrouwer 22

Dylan DeBrouwer

Dylan DeBrouwer joined the Warrior baseball staff ahead of the 2020 season as an assistant coach and director of strength and conditioning. He also coaches the outfield, serves as the first base coach and assists with the infielders and hitters.

In his first season on staff, Westmont was 18-9 overall (13-3 GSAC) and had a two-game lead atop the Golden State Athletic Conference standings, halfway through GSAC play, when the season was canceled because of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In his second season on the staff, DeBrouwer helped guide the club through the COVID-19 pandemic. The club was able to play 52 games in 2021 without a single cancelation/postponement due to COVID protocols. The club went 30-22, hosted one of nine NAIA Opening Rounds, and won two games in the tournament before being eliminated by eventual World Series Champion Georgia Gwinnett.

DeBrouwer came to Westmont after a season at NCAA Division I Valparaiso (Ind.) where he served as the infield instructor and the team’s strength and conditioning coach.

The previous two seasons DeBrouwer worked as a Graduate Assistant coach at Greenville University in Greenville, Ill. His coaching responsibilities for the Panthers included: hitting, infield, and strength and conditioning, as well as being the team's recruiting coordinator.

In 2017, he helped lead Greenville to a conference championship and the program’s single-season record for wins. The team ranked in the top-25 nationally in NCAA Division III for home runs, stolen bases and double plays turned.

DeBrouwer also served as the head coach of the Chesterfield Vipers in the Mid Atlantic Collegiate League, leading them to a summer league championship in 2018.

He played collegiately at Whittier College and earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration before fulfilling a master’s degree in education and coaching from Greenville.

DeBrouwer is a certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) and is also certified in Speed & Agility and Sports Nutrition by the National Sports Performance Association (NSPA). He is also certified as a Champion Performance Specialist (C-PS).
